The foundation behind James Signature Outdoors was built long before the company name existed. It was shaped through decades of plant knowledge, nursery work, customer relationships, and the kind of hands-on experience that teaches what truly makes landscapes and outdoor spaces succeed over time. At the center of that foundation is a family legacy rooted in horticulture and a commitment to doing things the right way.

That foundation grew stronger in 2014 when Jimmy, Dalton, and Dylan launched Color Crop Nursery in Fort Worth. The nursery became more than a business — it became a place where plant expertise, regional knowledge, customer guidance, and long-term landscape understanding were sharpened daily. That background still influences how we approach every project today.

Over time, that experience naturally expanded into the landscape and outdoor living world. What began through planting, layout, and landscape improvements evolved into a more complete design-build approach — one that considers not just how a space looks, but how it functions, how it matures, and how it fits the home and the people who live there.

That growth led to the creation of James Signature Outdoors: a company built to bring together horticultural intelligence, design vision, craftsmanship, and a higher level of project execution. While the company has grown into outdoor living, masonry, pools, lighting, and full-property transformations, its roots remain deeply connected to the same family values, work ethic, and knowledge base that shaped it from the beginning.

Today, James Signature Outdoors is a design-first outdoor living company focused on creating refined exterior spaces with lasting quality and purpose. From 3D design and planning to landscaping, structures, hardscapes, lighting, and full backyard environments, our goal is to guide each project with clarity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to the final result.
